Barks Without Borders Adoption Terms & Conditions
Adoption Eligibility
Adopters must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction).
Valid photo identification and proof of residence may be required.
Barks Without Borders reserves the right to verify housing conditions and, in some cases, conduct a home visit before or after the adoption.
Adoption Fees
All adoption fees must be paid in full at the time of adoption.
Adoption fees cover basic veterinary care provided before adoption, including vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery (where applicable).
Adoption fees are generally non-refundable, except at the sole discretion of Barks Without Borders.
Health and Medical Disclosure
Barks Without Borders provides medical information about the dog’s known health status, vaccinations, and any treatments the dog has received.
We do not guarantee any dog's future health, temperament, or behavior.
The adopter is responsible for arranging ongoing veterinary care, including vaccinations, preventative treatments, and check-ups.
Post-Adoption Care and Expectations
The adopter agrees to provide the dog with adequate food, water, shelter, and veterinary care.
The adopter commits to providing a safe, secure, and humane environment, including proper exercise and socialization.
Barks Without Borders may request updates on the dog’s welfare and reserves the right to conduct welfare checks if necessary.
Return Policy
If the adopter is unable to keep the dog for any reason, the dog must be returned to Barks Without Borders unless other written arrangements have been made.
While adoption fees are typically non-refundable, we will work with the adopter to find an appropriate solution in the dog’s best interest.
Isolation Requirement
Some dogs may require an isolation period (e.g., 7–14 days) if recommended by Barks Without Borders.
During this period, the adopter must keep the dog separate from other pets to minimize the risk of spreading illnesses.
If the adopter chooses to break the isolation requirement, Barks Without Borders is not responsible for any resulting medical expenses.
Liability and Indemnification
Barks Without Borders is not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses that may occur due to adopting or housing the dog.
The adopter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Barks Without Borders, its employees, volunteers, and partners from any legal claims arising from the dog’s behavior or health.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Personal information collected during the adoption process (e.g., name, address, contact details) will be used solely for adoption-related purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent unless required by law.
Barks Without Borders may use non-identifiable information (e.g., adoption statistics) for promotional or educational purposes.
Changes to Terms & Conditions
Barks Without Borders reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Changes will take effect immediately upon posting on our official website or being otherwise communicated to adopters.
