Bolt, Atlas & Balto’s Story
Please join us in welcoming Balto, Atlas & Bolt to Barks Without Borders!
These tiny puppies were surrendered to the shelter just days after birth due to irresponsible backyard breeding. Unfortunately, the shelter lacked the resources to care for such fragile babies, placing them on the list for immediate euthanasia.
Thankfully, an experienced bottle feeder and cat rescuer stepped in to save their lives, but she knew that she wouldn’t be able to long term foster them. That’s where we stepped in.
These boys have had a rough start to life, but are currently being bottle-fed every few hours, kept warm, and cared for with love. We look forward to watching them thrive in the weeks to come, and can’t wait to share more of their story with you.
Apollo’s Story
Please join us in welcoming Apollo to Barks Without Borders!
Sweet little Apollo found himself at the shelter when he was just 5 weeks old. An urgent rescue plea was issued for him, as the shelter does not have the resources to house an underage puppy. We waited to see if anyone with a larger platform would step up to help him, but on his last day, we emailed the shelter and discovered that there had been no interest in rescuing him. Naturally, we decided to step in.
The shelter is a loud and scary place, especially for such a young puppy. While Apollo seems healthy at the moment, he could easily fall ill in that environment. He needed to get out as soon as possible. We found a wonderful foster home for him, arranged a pickup time with the shelter, and off we went.
Apollo is settling in well and will be seeing our vet soon. We have a special place in our hearts for pitties, and we are honored to help Apollo find the loving home he deserves.
